Drought Rain Boosts and Big Gar Catch Highlight Louisiana Fishing Report
Lightning from Concordia storms tempered week long fishing but the article notes farmers appreciated rain while anglers enjoyed action across numerous spots. William Rushing fought a 60 pound gar on Lake Providence, towed by the fish and aided by a neighbor with a rifle. Other sites like Lake Concordia St. John Saline Lake and many more reported strong bream and bass runs with crickets worms and top water lures. The Bastrop area topped the charts with hot bream and a resurgence of big bass as cooler weather aided fish activity.
