OSSINING New York AP Former boxer and bodyguard for Dr. John F Condon known as the Jas Sie of the Lindbergh kidnapping case, Al Reich, has died at age 73. The report notes his prior security role and death details.
In Brooklyn a children's blockade delayed work trucks at a hospital construction site. Other demonstrators threw themselves onto a crane load while pickets periodically blocked an entrance.
Louisiana Sovereignty Commission plans a 1:30 p.m. Baton Rouge meeting at the Capitol House to unite Southern opposition to the Kennedy Civil Rights bill. Frank Voelker Jr. will chair, Gov. Jimmie Davis sits as a member, and attendees include gubernatorial candidates and business leaders. The effort aims to mobilize private citizens to defeat the act of 1963. Police moved in during demonstrations for 25 percent minority hiring in Brooklyn and Queens. 22 arrests in Brooklyn and three in Queens.
Strengthened U S Army patrols with South Korean police killed four armed North Korean infiltrators six miles south of the DMZ in a hunt after a Monday ambush that killed two U S soldiers and wounded another. An Air National Guard twin engine plane attached to Harrisburg crashed in a cornfield near Allentown during instrument landing checks. Four men were aboard. debris spread over the area and one body was found about a mile from the crash site five miles from Allentown.
The $598,000 D Arbonne bridge spanning Lake D Arbonne near Farmerville will be dedicated at 10 a.m. Thursday. Gov Jimmie H. Davis will cut the ribbons opening the mile and a half of bridge and approaches. State Highway Director Ray Burgess will attend. The bridge is one of four under construction to cross the 16,000 acre lake now impounded. Completion of the $5 million full project is slated for early October. The bridge, part of Louisiana Highway 33, is half a mile south of Farmerville. It replaces an obsolete structure to be torn down. The lake offers recreation, wildlife and commercial possibilities. The lake’s 100 mile shoreline passes through Union and Lincoln parishes. The Louisiana Highway Department built the bridge and is working on almost two miles of bridges and approaches west of Farmerville. W. R. Fairchild Construction Co. of Hattiesburg, Miss. is contractor. Thomas G. Watts is project engineer. Embankments will be cut out for the channel, boat ramps constructed, and slopes dressed and seeded in the next three months. The bridge and approaches cost $597,938.32. The bridge itself is 780 feet long. (see BRIDGE Page 5-A).
Paris AP reports Richard Nixon met with President Charles de Gaulle for lunch and forecast a warmer U S France relationship, following months of chilly ties and diplomatic tensions between the two nations.
Radio Moscow announced that Harold Philby, a former British diplomat and journalist who vanished in Beirut last January, has been granted political asylum in the Soviet Union.
NEW ORLEANS AP A Mississippi voter registrar has been granted an extra ten days to meet federal court orders and resolve civil contempt findings. The extension allows time to fulfill requirements imposed by the court and avoid further penalties.
Washington AP reports J Edgar Hoover told law enforcement officers there is no place in the profession for those who violate civil rights or condone such tactics. He urged officers to uphold constitutional protections and professional standards.
The West Monroe Masonic Lodge will confer the entered apprentice degree tonight at 7 30 p m at the West Monroe Masonic Temple. All entered apprentice Masons are invited to attend the ceremony. Refreshments will be served.

In Louisville circuit court, 78 year old Dudley W. Pennington, adopted by his wife, was ruled not entitled to her 70 000 trust estate from Clara Kennedy Bullitt's 1921 will. The court said he is not her adopted child and not a rightful heir. The estate would pass to seven churches and charities if the beneficiary died childless. Pennington had married Anne Bullitt Brewer, later adopted by her in 1958. the judge held the adoption was a legal fiction to enable inheritance and not an actual intent by the testator.

Justice Sir Archie Marshall wrapped up the seven day Ward trial by warning jurors not to guess why high society figures like Lord Astor and Douglas Fairbanks Jr. have not testified for Stephen Ward. He noted if Ward told the truth, many affluent witnesses could have supported him. Christine Keeler testified of sleeping with John Profumo and money for her mother. Marilyn Rice Davies claimed she slept with Astor and Fairbanks. Ward denied knowledge of the alleged affairs and profits. A guilty verdict could send Ward to prison for up to 25 years within 24 hours.
The St. Louis Globe-Democrat reports a Soviet nuclear blast detonated in space during their test series crippled the electronics of an American satellite. The satellite, believed still orbiting, lost communications and control as authorities have not publicly disclosed the effects.
Stratford on Avon England AP a 35 year old convict won approval to seek election to John Profumo s seat Herbert Stratton prisoner 1839 at Hull announced his candidacy via letter to Stratford Town Clerk Douglas Balmford He must obtain a proposer second eight sponsors and a 420 deposit to run British law bars certain groups from standing but Stratton is serving 18 months for malicious damage to a car and is charged only with a misdemeanor.
Mrs. Georgiana Kate Fruge 65 wife of State Appeals Judge J Cleveland Fruge and mother of State Sen Jack C Fruge died today after months of poor health. A native of Evangeline Parish she taught in parish schools before marrying in 1920 and was active in civic affairs. Funeral services set for Wednesday afternoon. Survivors include son James Fruge another son from Ville Platte seven grandchildren and stepmother Mrs Ferdinand Tate.
