A man signing as Kentucky Bill claimed in a letter to the Memphis Press-Scimitar that he robbed the Woodlawn American National Bank in Birmingham, Alabama, of 24744 ten days earlier. He said 5 bills were circulated in Memphis and $1000 in circulation, with larger denominations in Chicago.
