The diocese of Lead observes the silver jubilee of Rt Rev Joseph F Busch bishop aged 48 born in Red Wing Minnesota He studied in Buffalo and Prairie du Chien and Innisbruck ordained in 1889 and first bishop when Lead diocese was created in 1910 Mary Aren to lead the company presenting The House of Glass a comedy drama by Max Marein premiering in September.
In Tennessee near Rockwood on the Queen & Crescent Railroad train No 1 wrecked after a hay baling machine blocked the track. One baggage master from Cincinnati died, engineer and fireman were fatally hurt, two passengers seriously injured, and two more passengers hurt as cars piled atop the engine.

Houston, Texas July 28 Mrs L W Thompson of Harrisburg was found dying Monday in woods near Hollywood Cemetery. She died soon after with two bullet wounds. John Kellett former Harrisburg constable staggered into a shop with a breast wound. Papers said to be Kelletts property were found and a note signed Jack hinted at suicide. At a hospital Kellett wrote his name on a paper when asked who shot him. The case remains mystery. Mrs Thompson is survived by her husband.

Paris July 28 The Caillaux murder trial heard closing arguments as Mme Henriette Caillaux fainted and the session paused. Playwright Bernstein shouted at ex Premier Joseph Caillaux in court accusing officials of theft and forgery while the judge cleared the room.
Robbers early Monday stole 1500 dollars in cash and jewelry from Mr and Mrs A Horuff of Monroe La in a downtown Cincinnati hotel. Diamonds turquoises emeralds and pearls rings a gold bracelet and two gold rings were taken. Thieves climbed the roof of an adjacent building to enter the Horuffs rooms. Police say they have little to go on.

Jackson Mississippi July 28 Robert Taylor an undertaker 45 shot and killed his brother Thomas Taylor another undertaker in front of the former's business place then killed himself with the same gun. Thomas was riding in a buggy when fired upon. The brothers had been enemies since dissolving their partnership three years ago and opening rival businesses.
