A — blast at a crowded London railway station injured sixteen and killed Donald Campbell. Police blame the illegal Irish Republican Army after Home Secretary Sir Samuel Hoare described terror plans in Parliament.
The funeral of Martin Lorenzo Langford 71 will be at First Methodist Church Monroe Thursday at 9am Rev W C Scott will officiate. Burial follows in Greenwood Cemetery Ruston with pallbearers named. Langford born Mechanicsburg Miss 1868 was son of Rev and Mrs Daniel Clark Langford and grandson of Rev and Mrs Lorenzo Dowe Langford. He married Rosa Harmon December 11 1890. He died Tuesday after a one day illness at 494 Austin Ave West Monroe suburbs.
A Monroe unit of the Citizens' Volunteer committee formed to send delegates to a state wide meeting in Alexandria on Thursday. Five men selected as delegates with their names withheld. At Alexandria three attorneys will be named for Governor Earl Long to aid in the investigation and prosecution of figures in Louisiana political scandal.

A vast search for six year old Russell Jensen and Chicago fisherman F C Lambert spanned forested lakes near Laporte and International Falls. Deputies, CCC enrollees and locals scoured Lake Kabekona and Paul Biswan forest amid bears and insects as dusk fell with no immediate sign of the boy or confirmation of his fate.
A $10 000 bond issue passed in a special election in Winnsboro Louisiana to finance the acquisition of a 20 acre municipal park and natatorium. The measure drew 46 votes in favor representing $221 425 in assessed property value and 11 against representing $33 260.
Eight people on the third floor jumped from the New George hotel in Linden Texas as fire spread from a linen room. One man, L. E. Lummus of Paris, Texas, was killed in the plunge. Seven others escaped, some using nearby structures to break their falls. injuries included a back injury to Mrs. J. L. Trammel and a fall by RB. Fant, the hotel owner, who helped wake guests.
A federal district court ruled that the Sherman anti trust act does not apply to medical practice, dismissing an indictment against the American Medical Association and others. Justice James M. Proctor described the case as arguing medicine as a trade and noted the learned profession exception. The government will appeal for Solicitor General Robert H. Jackson.

Donn Fendler the 12 year old boy who vanished on Mt Katahdin for eight days was found by Nelson E McMearn camp owner at his Maine riverside camp. He described his trek and survival eating berries drinking stagnant water and sleeping in the open. He will be moved to Bangor for care with his father recovering from an eye injury.
Velma West and fellow fugitive Mary Ellen Richards were arrested on a Dallas street after a 36 day jailbreak from the Ohio Women's Reformatory. Detectives C O Buchanan J E Daniel and Ben Samford took them into custody following a nationwide search.

K Kilpatrick indicted at Baton Rouge yesterday posted a $5,000 surety bond there Sheriff Milton Coverdale announced He had been said to post bond here Tuesday night but the bond was not posted until morning Deputy Webster East Baton Rouge parish reported the bond had been provided Kilpatrick’s arrest warrant reached Sheriff Coverdale this morning He traveled to Baton Rouge last night.
Governor Earl K Long declared he would remove from power anyone who serves Mammon over God and vowed to end state business monopolies. He said wrongdoing in Louisiana would become an unprofitable enterprise and spoke before leaving for Natchez to deliver a speech at Louisiana State Normal College.
The government called a mystery witness in the Harry Bridges deportation hearing on Angel Island, seeking to delay cross examination of Merriel R. Bacon who testified he joined the Communist party as a secret police agent. Bridges, a Labor leader and ILWU official, was absent due to matters and illness.
State Superintendent T. H. Harris announced periodic audits will be conducted in athletic departments and bookstores at board supervised colleges as a precaution. Parish Fuller proposed the audits and Harris agreed there is no current evidence of need but supports future checks. The board reappointed Lether E. Frazar and E. L. Richardson as presidents of Southern Louisiana Institute and Louisiana Polytechnic Institute respectively.

Baton Rouge July 26. Governor Earl K. Long seeks to preserve the old regime as more figures face investigation. Indicted are L. P. Abernathy and A. K. Kilpatrick for illegal profits tied to equipment sales to LSU and Northeast Junior College, and Dr. James M. Smith for misusing authority to obtain funds. Long invites State Treasurer Tugwell to join in ending their public dispute over campaign receipts.
Baton Rouge July 26 Acting Vice-President and Comptroller Troy H Middleton said the LSU board ordered immediate elimination of construction and landscaping crews. The program will wrap up with ongoing projects finishing, preserving a maintenance staff. He expects most layoffs within three to four weeks, noting several workers have already been discharged including truck driver Hick Batts.
In New Orleans on July 26 Monte F. Hart posted $15,090 bond on two embezzlement charges filed in criminal district court over fake deals involving LSA funds and the Bienville hotel sale. Hart, president of Hart Enterprise Electrical, is one of five charged. Dr James M. Smith, former LSA president, faces two information counts and awaits arraignment on a mail fraud charge.
