By Associated Press Baton Rouge July 26 Governor Parker will depart this afternoon for Alexandria to attend Governor's Day at the Louisiana national guard encampment at Camp Beauregard.
Walter S. Ward son of a wealthy baker in White Plains was reindicted on a first degree charge in the 1922 death of Clarence E. Peters, an ex sailor found near Kensico Reservoir. Trial set for September 4. Ward held without bail at Westchester County Jail. He had previously been indicted June 15 1922 but the case was dismissed for lack of prosecution. Peters’s body remained unidentified for days amid rumors of a bootleggers feud. Ward surrendered after Peters was identified and claimed in a lawyers prepared statement that he knew blackmailers sought money.
Gulfport Miss July 26 Captain John Ethelbert of Cornwall England reports his ship Helena from Newcastle South Wales to Gulfport nitrate faced a three day sou'wester storm during which triplets were born to his wife aboard the vessel. The voyage saw the ship's physician buried at sea two days earlier and the mother and two of the three babies are said to be strong as the gale subsides. Jeona their existing child was born at sea and Mrs Ethelbert has sailed seven voyages worldwide with her husband.
Minnesota senator elect Magnus Johnson on the farmer labor ticket warns a revolution could occur in the United States if conditions for laborers and farmers are not changed. He calls for emergency legislation this year, wealth redistribution, higher taxes on corporations, and reforms to the Federal Reserve and Supreme Court.

Screen star Lila Lee married James Kirkwood in West Los Angeles amid reports the bride used the name Augusta Appel and age 18 at license. Kirkwood aged 40 and this marks his third marriage. Guardianship for Miss Lee’s marriage was conferred on Chicago attorney Philip Sultan who noted she had previously said she would not wed for a year.
