Life Expectancy At All Time High In 1972

The National Center for Health Statistics reports U.S. life expectancy rose to 71.3 years in 1972, a record high, while deaths from heart disease increased to 752,450 that year. Infant mortality fell to a record low, but infant deaths ranked 13th internationally. Death rates peaked in January February with homicide and self-inflicted deaths rising.
