Woman Injured In West Monroe Head On Crash
A West Monroe woman Mrs. M. H. Gray Route 4 was hospitalized after a head on collision in the 2000 block of Cypress. Driver Marvin Evans 26 of 701 Wood Street was arrested for driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene. Gray’s injuries included possible rib and chest fractures though not life threatening. Evans was held in the West Monroe jail on $750 bond.

British Airliner Ditches After Engine Fire Near Bangkok
An airliner, en route to Bangkok, ditched at 9 a.m. after a port engine caught fire. The captain sent an SOS before crash landing in the sea as rescue planes and ships from Hong Kong and the Philippines rushed to the scene. Airman Moore joins Fifth Air Force radar crew in Korea
