A dramatic long range Liberator attack struck the Soer oil refinery and air base in Java, targeting the main enemy lands in the occupied Dutch east Indies. Bombers returned after a dawn raid of about 2400 miles, with fires visible at the dock area and oil facilities.

New Delhi reports American P-51 Warhawks and Mitchell and Liberator bombers attacked targets in northern Burma. They hit a road bridge at Neopru, barracks near Myitkyina, and attacks damaged mills at Myingyan. Crews returned safely.
German plants were reported over southwest England and Wales last night breaking a six night lull in enemy activity over Britain. The ministries of air and home security said that no bombs were dropped.
