In South Orange New Jersey a retired Wall Street broker Orville G. Drake and his son-in-law Philip Guilfoil were found dead after a family dispute. A Tallulah farmer and father of three was killed when his car rear ended a wrecker on U S 190 in West Baton Rouge parish near the state scales. Convict From Monroe Caught After Long Night Escape
Henry Steve Williams twenty from Monroe, a twice-escaped inmate, was captured near Angola after an all night search. Wilfert Rocks seventeen of Bunkie, also linked to the escape, was detained a few hours later. Associate Warden Middlebrook said Williams wandered circles near the prison, was unarmed, and offered no resistance. Williams serves three years for kidnapping plus added time for a prior escape.
