A Northwest Airlines Zephyr 14 H transport crashes on takeoff near Billings Montana killing Mrs N S Mackay and injuring seven others including her husband. Pilot Walter Bullock and co pilot Lester Dean survived with no injuries. The crash occurred 1000 feet from the runway edge near a canyon with cause not explained.

Radioland Poet Joseph M. Seiferth Sr dies in New Orleans
Joseph M. Seiferth Sr aged 65 known as the Poet of Radioland died after an apoplexy and cerebral hemorrhage. He collapsed at Miss Helen Simon’s home after midnight and died en route to hospital. A native of New Orleans he was a former violinist and broadcast poet for twelve years. He toured the nation with his former wife pianist Sarah Steppach of Natchez. He played football at Vanderbilt and was active in boxing and wrestling. He is survived by his son Joseph M. Seiferth Jr. Funeral services will be held Sunday with interment at Metairie Cemetery.

Truck overturns injuring 27 workers near Bayou Boeuf bridge
A truck carrying 33 workmen from Morgan City to a dredging job overturned one mile west of the Bayou Boeuf bridge on the Old Spanish Trail. Twenty seven men were injured, three seriously, with driver Clenie Segora unhurt. Most seriously hurt were Simon Thibodaux Beauregard Rodriguez and Allen Anderson. They were rushed to a New Iberia hospital after on-site treatment.

Three Hurt In Early Morning Auto Accident
A collision at the Eighteenth Street and Louisville Avenue intersection early Friday involved a car and a truck carrying colored farm hands. Mrs. W. C. Arnold and her husband of Kalala Springs, Miss, and Leon London, the truck driver, were injured. The Arnolds were taken to Vaughan-Wright-Bendel clinic, with Mrs. Arnold undergoing further exams. The truck overturned and four riders were thrown from the vehicle but unharmed.
