Eight senators unveil a multi billion dollar program to reverse migration from rural areas to cities. The plan would provide loans up to 200 million annually for 10 years and 300 million a year in subsidy grants to build industries and improve communities in rural America. House hearings were opened with support from Poage and Nixon administration officials citing revenue sharing and reorganizing programs to speed rural development. Cosponsors include Aiken Allen Eastland Jordan McGovern and Young from the Agriculture Committee.
