Two children, a boy and a girl, drowned in separate incidents near West Monroe. The girl disappeared while swimming with companions at a farm pond and was found in about 10 feet of water after about 30 hours. The boy’s body drifted into the Ouachita River, found about 200 feet from shore as currents carried it from the pond. Surviving relatives are listed, with pallbearers named for the funerals.
