Longtime Ouachita parish physician Dr William Sandel aged about 75 died after a weeks long illness at the home of his son Percy Sandel on South Jackson street. He practiced in the parish for over fifty years and earlier in other parishes. He leaves two sons Huntington Sandel of Oxeen and Percy Sandel a city attorney. Funeral services were held at Percy Sandel’s residence with the Masonic Lodge in charge.

Dr A A Forsythe, mayor of Monroe, visited Shreveport on Tuesday to observe paving and improved country roads leaving the city. Mayor Fastham regretted not meeting him and offered to show Forsythe the city’s model roads during the visit.
