Wage Stabilization Meeting In Northeast Louisiana
An educational session on the governments wage stabilization plan will be held in Monroe at Neville High on Friday night February 5 at 7 30. Sam Smith president of the Chamber of Commerce said about 2900 people are expected. Attending will be J Sidney Gonsoulin New Orleans supervising inspector for wage and hour and public contracts divisions John M Fleurier inspector in charge of Shreveport office and Edmund Schedler regional director representative from Dallas Texas. They will explain the program and its applicability to individual cases. The plan prohibits employers with more than eight workers from changing wages except under specified conditions and was enacted as an anti inflation measure.

Hughes Said 10 Admit Attack in Fatal Stabbing
Sheriff Milton Coverdale said Hughes admitted involvement in the Tuesday night attack that killed H. D. Acie Taylor at Brass Rail. Hughes, arrested near Hamburg Arkansas, provided a partial statement and was brought across the state line with other suspects. Taylor died at a local clinic after the confrontation. no charges filed yet.
