Men Accused of Robbing Liquor Firm Deny Charge
Lonnie R. Harrison and Hilton, both of Monroe, were arrested Monday afternoon in Lincoln parish as suspects in the hold up of Louisiana Distributing Co. at 2739 DeSiard Street. They denied involvement and said they were elsewhere when Donald Quinn was forced to surrender cash and checks. The robbery netted 37 dollars in cash and 306 dollars in checks. They described an eastbound trip to El Dorado with a stop for coffee and whisky as part of their claimed alibi and acknowledged owning two revolvers found in a hidden bag. They were arrested at a roadhouse in Choudrant by Sheriff Bryan Thigpen and deputies.
