Dr. H. H. Halley presented the Divine Plan of the Ages at the First Christian Church, tracing Gods purpose from Abrahams promise through Israelite history to the coming of Jesus. The program runs this week with two sessions daily, inviting the public and especially Sunday School teachers. Halley arrived Saturday after talks in Hattiesburg Mississippi. Tonight at 7:45 oclock is the next lecture.

Man shoots self hours after murdering wife in Detroit area
In Detroit Michigan on January 25 a 35 year old man David Schaefer shot and killed his estranged wife 24 year old Mrs Josephine Hudson. Hours later Schaefer killed himself to avoid arrest for murder after deputies confront him at the farm home where his wife and children lived. Authorities traced the woman from a radio broadcast and a photograph. The victim’s former husband Ray Hudson and Washtenaw County Sheriff Jacob Andres identified the bodies.

Thomas Hardin and Taylor Bowman pled guilty to breaking and entering and were sentenced to three years each in the state penitentiary for breaking into Brooks store on DeSiard Street in December. Bennie Taylor Louis Bynum and Matthews pled guilty to stealing gasoline. Taylor and Matthews each got 20 days in jail. Bynum 60 days for a second offense. W L Drewey, from Shreveport, was sentenced to 30 days for larceny and issuing bad checks dating from January 13.
