Sheriff fatally wounded in Tulia Texas ambush
Sheriff John C. Mosley age 49 of Swisher County was killed in a gun battle with three men who robbed a filling station after a running chase through Tulia. Deputy Goen had warned Mosley of a suspicious car and the attackers fled after firing on Mosley who was found dead in his car. Floyd Ward station attendant was later held up and forced to service the attackers' car.
