Seventy six year old John Bezz died after a man described as a negro attempted a robbery at his DeSiard Street grocery. He was shot in the chest and died at a local hospital shortly before midnight Thursday. Police and county officers hunted the gunman, with one 32 caliber bullet found in the wall as the sole clue.
