A Lee anniversary program at City High School under Monroe Chapter U D C featured Miss Lillian Herron of Parish High School giving a biographical tribute to Robert E. Lee. The event included a selection of songs, violin pieces, and a closing benediction, with Rev C S Newman and Rev Father Mahe leading prayers.

Columbus January 20 The United Mine Workers of America adopted a resolution favoring withdrawal from the Federation of Labor if the latter does not admit the Western Federation of Miners without restriction. The resolution was adopted almost unanimously.
The appeal of Dr. B. Clark Hyde, Kansas City physician convicted of murder in the Swope case and sentenced to life, will be heard by the Missouri Supreme Court next month. The argument had been set for today in Jefferson City.
