Monroe Mayor Denies Bus Collision In City Detective Case
At a Monroe city council special meeting Mayor John E. Coon said he did not know about an accident in which a city detective allegedly collided his car with a city bus while the detective was intoxicated. Frank X. Cline supported Coon’s statement, attesting to its truthfulness. the mayor called the report in the January 15 issue of Monroe Morning World seriously at variance with the truth.

March Of Dimes Benefit Auction Planned In Ouachita Parish
Final plans are set for a March of Dimes benefit auction to aid the local fund raising drive. The event Saturday night will run about two hours with items donated by Twin Cities merchants and Ouachita Parish businesses including clothing furniture and garden wares. Local radio and television stations will broadcast the proceedings. Gerald Sugar and 8S. E. Holloway urge everyone to attend or donate to help fight infantile paralysis, a disease the National Foundation warns is at a critical point this year.

Police report shows a two car collision on Louisville Avenue near 18th Street at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday injuring Mrs. W. S. Carson 47 and Minnie H. Carson 20 of Holly Ridge. Mrs. Carson suffered head lacerations and possible broken leg. Minnie Carson had a small cut and was released after treatment.

Kidnappers Nab Real Estate Broker in San Francisco
Leonard Moskovitz a 56 year old San Francisco real estate broker was kidnapped Saturday and held for 300000 dollars ransom. Police arrested suspects Harold Jackson 57 and Joe Lear 43 of Sacramento after Lear was nabbed near the victim’s home and led officers to the hideout. Moskovitz unharmed said he was kept shackled but fed and hydrated during the ordeal.
