Mann arrives Saturday to discuss veterans compensation issues at the Monroe courthouse after 3 pm.
Mrs. Aimee Semple McPherson Hutton plans a world mission tour and will appear in a religious film produced by a Hollywood studio upon her return. The film role aims to help settle $544 500 in pending damage suits over a film contract dispute. Studio name not disclosed.

New Orleans January 19 The status of a suggested grand jury probe into the November constitutional amendments remains undetermined after a session attended by election reform advocates. District Attorney Eugene Stanley's probe was halted by Attorney General Gaston Porterie who argued avoiding bond validity risk. Bonds totaling 5 million dollars and a 1 million debt for Louisiana State University were sold to New Orleans banks January 16.
Police investigated a store robbery at Frank Bruno’s on Tenth and Adams and an attempted theft at Busy Bee cafe on Qua chita avenue. About $80 was reported taken in the robbery, and the attempted theft occurred about 1:30 am. Two suspects were detained to be questioned by Chief Tarver. C O Worley and Bernice Smith face charges connected to the case.

Waiting for a break in the weather the armies of China and Japan remain inactive for two days with no skirmish reports. Japanese scouts in Manchuria report 380 Chinese soldiers frozen to death on a mountain top after a two week siege. The League of Nations awaits Tokyo's word on joining the conciliation effort with the United States and Soviet Russia. Tokyo officials say Japan will demand further modifications to the plan.

In New Orleans a 1920s Mer Rouge torture death case resurfaced as old bones found behind filing cabinets were identified as evidence from the Richards and Daniel disappearance of 1922. The bones were traced to a 1922 23 trial. pathologists testified the men were tortured before being sunk in Lake Lafourche by irons. No convictions were ever obtained.
Former New York mayor Walker, lately at Cap D Antibes, moves to Cannes with a year long apartment. His grippe recovery nears completion. Actress Betty Compton also relocates to Cannes to occupy the villa Beau Gest provided by friends in England.
