Two Obion high school girls Mildred Crockett and Evelyn Fields both sixteen died when their car skidded on a snow ice covered road and plunged into sixteen feet of water in the Obion river. Three male companions escaped and were recovering from shock and exposure as rescue workers battled flood and deep water.
