Police said about 25 000 residents were affected while a section of R H Watkins High School lost its roof and walls sagged. Two Deputies Slain Found in Car Trunk in Georgia
Forsyth County Sheriff Donald Pirkle reported deputies James Cantrell and Larry Mulkey were found murdered in the trunk of their patrol car on U S 19 south of Cumming. A suspect was captured in southwest Atlanta after a massive manhunt. a second was sought as investigators combed a wooded residential area. Both men were shot in the head. Cantrell’s hands were cuffed behind him and a .38 pistol belonging to Cantrell was missing.
