The FDA announces a plan to ban DES residues in livestock feed and livestock meat after repeated finds in liver tissue. If no hearing is requested within 30 days, the rule will be finalized. outdated detection methods will be revoked and newer, more sensitive tests used by the Agriculture Department.
Jewel Ann Sherman O Conn er, 20, was convicted in Orlando of selling her 9 month old daughter to an undercover officer. A jury deliberated two hours before the verdict and sentencing was delayed for a presentence investigation. The mother said she surrendered the child last September not for money but because she feared harming the baby.
