Sterlington Girl to Be Commissioned by Methodist Board
Patsy Alexander of Sterlington will be commissioned by the Methodist Board of Missions during the first joint assembly of Methodist boards at the Scottish Rite Temple in Cincinnati Ohio She will serve in the Woman's Division of Christian Service as a missionary in Uruguay along with 33 other missions to Latin America Africa and Asia The Commission includes 13 foreign missionaries and 16 home missionaries and deaconesses The candidate is a Mineola Texas native who attended Centenary College Shreveport Scarritt College for Christian Workers and Northwestern State College Natchitoches Her service includes Cuba New York City and other church work prior to her commission

Two Are Injured In Two Car Collision
A two car crash Tuesday afternoon left Alpert Atkins a 31 year old Monroe Negro and another occupant injured. Atkins suffered a minor concussion and was taken by Hixon Brothers Funeral Home ambulance to Charity Hospital in good condition Thursday. Attendants reported he was doing all right.

Large Kiwanis Meeting Set for January 9
