Guilty plea yields long sentence in burglary case
Milton Sims, 32, pled guilty in district court to breaking and entering at night and received five years in the state penitentiary Judge J T Shell imposed the term. Seven others also pled guilty and were sentenced. Sims was caught burglarizing North Side Pharmacy at 402 Stubbs Avenue December 10. W H Garrettson, 43, and H O Young, 43, local mechanics, were arrested on similar charges. Sims had not been a Monroe resident, claiming to have come in the day prior. others had long ties to Monroe. Additional pleas included Gladys Warner, white woman, theft, four months, and O M Short, breaking and entering in the night.
