Senate cites Congress funds used to sustain Polish army as part of European relief. Moscow dispatch reports Lenine urging a world wide strike wave and internal turmoil to guard Soviet Russia and boost anti bourgeois agitation.
Chicago police chief orders movie censors to deny permits to any film showing crime being committed even if the suspect ends in prison. The move follows youths admitting crime was inspired by crime films. Also in Washington Methodist board plans a campaign against derisive treatment of ministers in stage and film.
In Belgrade on January 4 a clash between communists and police left nearly two hundred communists and about a dozen police wounded. Many Russians were among the rioters.
Mary E. Duncan, described as a respected citizen, was swindled out of 231 dollars by two Black men who claimed to be from Austin Texas. One man said he found a pocketbook with about one thousand dollars and urged Duncan to hand over her cash. the pair disappeared with the money after she complied. Deputy Sheriff D L Roper was notified.
Florida delegates to the House census committee presented affidavits denying that blacks were blocked from voting in Florida. They cited no such incidents in Live Oak or Sewanee county and claimed several hundred black residents voted, while noting another claim of a whipping was denied.
Louis Toombs sells 146 acres on Island DeSiard road to W. H. Hampton of Monroe and T. J. Collier of Fillerton La for 16600. Hampton sells half of 146 acres in 9 18N 4E to J. D. Collier for 9050 with 3750 cash. M. D. Swayze sells to George G. Green land from Bon Air Planting Co along the V S & P railroad for 7463.75 with 1000 cash.
The Constantin Refining Company No 2 oil well, two and a half miles from El Dorado, reported a 100 barrel per day flow after coming in at 8 30 Saturday morning. Initially it flowed up to 5000 barrels daily before stabilizing at 100, with weaker gas pressure than No 1 and Home wells and a water free mud free flow. The well sits 2244 feet deep, spudded in two months ago, located 600 feet north and 300 feet west of No 1.
Pastors and laymen from the Monroe Ruston District will attend an educational conference at Rayville tomorrow. Rev. A S Lutz will outline the statewide education campaign with Dr. R H Wynn and others on the program. The one day meeting starts about 10 a m and adjourns in the afternoon to allow all to return home. Rev K W Dodgson of Ruston presiding elder urges large attendance.
B M Jackson submits 1920 Ouachita Parish agricultural report to Washington noting strong progress across farming, with sweet potatoes rising as a key crop. Three government curing houses with 12 000 bushel capacity, demo yields 162 6 bushels per acre, 51 fruit orchards totaling 5356 trees, four commercial orchards under development. The North Louisiana Farmers Association formed to unite farmers in selling crops and buying inputs, aided by Monroe and local banks.
Mrs Stella CG Eby sold to J A Shamberger a portion of the Crosley Home tract in 47-45 and 51-17 and 18N-3E for 2200 dollars with 275 dollars paid in cash and remaining by notes.
Mrs. R. J. Cosper leased the Cosper Building at 404 and 406 South Grand Street to Peddicord Motor Supply Company for three years ending November 1, 1923, for a total of $5,400.

Washington January 4 Government objections to stockyard holdings divor cement plans submitted by the big packers under the decree were sustained by Justice Stafford in the DC Supreme Court. An acceptable plan must provide early complete divestment of obnoxious holdings. The decree may be enforced by receivership and sale unless defendants present a suitable plan.
Distormament of war ships under d Annunzio's legionaries in Fiume continued. All submarine chasers leaving port were seized by the blockading fleet as control tightened.
The city commission at a special meeting adopted an ordinance to issue 140000 in bonds to pay off the indebtedness from building the new electric light and power plant at Forsythe park. Bonds will cover over 100000 in debts and any required plant completion costs.
The Monroe Chamber of Commerce junior board endorsed Governor Parker's plan to conserve natural gas resources citing the Wyoming supreme court case. They urged eliminating resource waste and reported progress with enforcement talks on Ordinance No. 1986 and a planned clean-up on Grand and DeSiard streets following a meeting with the mayor.
A citizens committee of Third Street property owners urges the city to sell paving and sewerage bonds at the earliest date. They report widespread property-owner petitions and plan detailed surveys on drainage and sewer work, gas line changes, and curb service while studying pavement options.
