Houston, Feb. 27. A man found dying on a sidewalk Monday night was identified as Jack Avery, 23, of Shreveport, La. He had come to Houston seeking work. Mrs. Birdie Spearman and her sons viewed the body and a wife and child were said to exist in Shreveport. Avery married in Marshall, Texas in 1926. his groomsman A. A. Spearman spoke of the wedding. Physicians attributed his death to heart disease.
