Tragic Boat Collision Fatality In Monroe District
Telegram from New Orleans reports Henry Bond aboard the boat discharged Jim Bennett’s revolver, killing John Moore instantly. Moore, brother of Mrs. J. M. Bennett, was a local businessman with property. Bond, a known heavy drinker, is described as a gentleman when sober. The accident occurred near Monroe as the party traveled for New Orleans carnival festivities. Interment expected in Monroe tomorrow as relatives remain.
