Moore Terminal and Barge Co of Monroe opens a 106000 barrel storage petroleum terminal on the Arkansas River at Pine Bluff with a 890 foot dock and a 45000 barrel tow from British Petroleum destined for International Paper mills in Arkansas. Moore notes plans to move Arkansas and Tulsa produced products downstream and into Little Rock markets. The company operates a river terminal on the Ouachita in Monroe and plans larger cargoes with the nine foot channel expansion. Initial investment totals 1217000 dollars with 500000 on the terminal 600000 for boats and barges and 117000 for the 45000 barrel movement.
