A 20 year old, James Anderson, spent about twelve hours wedged in a narrow air shaft between the first and second floors of a building at 121 123 East 24th Street. He was forced to jump by an armed robber during a burglary attempt. Emergency teams broke through walls and finally freed him at 9:20 a.m. He suffered possible broken arms legs and back injuries. A doctor gave him pain relief before extraction.
