Funeral services for 51 year old Mrs Marjorie Long of Farmerville were conducted at First Baptist Church with Rev Larry Ramsour and Dr L B Hall officiating. Burial followed at Farmerville patrick Funeral Home. She died Saturday night at Norris Clinic after a long illness. She was a Union Parish native and member of the First Baptist Church and Woman Missionary Union. Survivors include husband Jake Long two daughters Jeanette Cooper of Auburn Alabama and Patti Long and a son Jimmy Long. Grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services for Mrs. A L Cone 67 of Marshall Texas were held at 2 p m in the Rains Talley Calhoun Funeral Home chapel with burial at Algoma Memorial Gardens Cemetery She was the mother of Robert L Cone of Hodge and survived by a daughter Mrs Francis Riddle of Marshall and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. today for Edith Gertrude Vought 65 of 516 Breard Monroe at Emmanuel Baptist Church with Rev O C Clark officiating Burial followed at Memorial Park Cemetery under Mulhearn Funeral Home Monroe after a long illness She died at St Francis Hospital Saturday night She was a New Mexico native

Vernon C. Downey aged 58 of Houston Texas formerly of Monroe died early Saturday in Houston. Funeral services are set for 10 a m today at Earthman Funeral Home Houston with burial in Houston. Survived by wife Pauline Downey two daughters Cherrie Pepitone and Sue Walters both of Houston two brothers Victor L Downey and Bill C Downey of West Monroe and six grandchildren.
Funeral services for Maude Witherington 69 of West Monroe were held at Kilpatrick's West Monroe chapel at 1 pm with Revs T E Miller and Gerald Marvel officiating. Burial followed at Mt Zion Cemetery near Calhoun. She died Saturday in St Francis Hospital after a short illness. Survivors include four daughters three sons two brothers twenty seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
The body of former King Saud of Saudi Arabia, who ruled from 1953 to 1964, will be flown to Riyadh. Saud died of a heart attack at his hotel near Athens at age 67. Saud had lived in exile, aided by an annual royal allowance, with a retinue of 75 attending him at the Cavouri Hotel and a throne room set for family visits.
