An intensive search is under way for a military aircraft missing since Friday morning carrying Sir Frederick Banting co discoverer of insulin and a Canadian army major. Also aboard are Captain Joseph Creighton Mackey Jr navigator William Bird and William Swaitham. The plane may have gone down off eastern Canada or in Newfoundland area. Banting had been engaged in aviation medicine research and served in World War I.
