White robed Monroe Klan No 4 Knights of the Ku Klux Klan emerged from an eastern rendezvous and marched through DeSiard Street to a crowd of thousands. The silent procession featured hooded horsemen and a fiery cross banner while police maintained order. Banners proclaimed law enforcement and 100 percent Americanism as warnings to moonshiners bootleggers and violators.

Monroe gas field cuts carbon black plant use to 20 percent
The Louisiana conservation commission limited Monroe field gas use by carbon black plants to 20 percent of daily flow, down from 25 percent, to conserve gas for domestic and industrial needs. The rule, signed February 21 1922 and effective April 1 1922, applies to all operators within Ouachita Morehouse and Union parishes.
