Miller Suicide At Home Of Lizzie McCoy In Monroe
Bes Miller aged about 25 to 30 years old killed himself with a pistol in his room at the home of Lizzie McCoy on Fourteenth and Adams streets Monroe. He left no note and told no friends his purpose. A coroner's jury declared the death a self inflicted pistol wound during a personal crisis. Miller had been living with McCoy for several months and likely came to Monroe from Ruston where a brother resided.

Registration Opens for Monroe Bond Election in April
Voters in Monroe will register for the upcoming school bond election. Will Atkinson is the new registrar, succeeding Louis Fox. Larche Attends Louisiana Commercial Secretaries Convention
L N Larche represented West Monroe at the Louisiana Association of Commercial Secretaries convention in Alexandria. The first day focused on issues for the organization including a proposal to require mail order houses to pay a state tax. Delegates enjoyed a luncheon at Hotel Bentley. Bivens to build a brick 25 by 90 foot structure by April 1. Dillingham to open a restaurant in El Dorado. A. L. Kayne and Co of the Alexander hotel has leased part of the Richey Grocer Co. site on Washington avenue. Ground broke for a fifty room hotel to be ready in about thirty days with cafe and drug store on first floor. Contract awarded to 8. A. Sudduth of Little Rock who also has El Dorado office.
