Prominent Monroe Doctor Dr. D Milam Dies at 75
Dr. Dewitt T. Milam 75 of 1704 Island Drive Monroe died today at St. Francis Hospital after a short illness. He practiced 54 years, retired 16 years ago, and served as volunteer director of the Carolyn Center. He chaired the Monroe City Board of Health and was chief of staff at St. Francis. He studied at Webb School Louisiana Tech Tulane and earned his medical degree in 1922. He served in WWI and WWII and belonged to multiple medical societies. Survived by his widow Mary Lea Milam and several nephews and nieces.
