A. H. Fletcher from Baton Rouge reports on a year survey of conditions in and about Monroe. He notes plans for Bayou DeSiard to host a fishery and pleasure resort via three dams. The inspection aligns with a sanitary code amendment approved by the legislature.
The Wesley Biblical and Missionary Institute will graduate its first quarter next Sunday at 11 o clock in West Monroe Methodist Church. Thirty two credits will be awarded for studies including Luke Acts and Yet Another Day in Methodist Missions. The program features processional offertory classes salutatory and valedictory with sermons on stewardship and revival and a certificate presentation by Mayor Bell.
The Reverend Charles Monroe preached at Grace Episcopal Church. He addressed themes of faith, mystery, and creative purpose, urging reflection on spiritual questioning and divine plans.

The act creating the board applies to cities over 10 600 population and sets license rules renewals and penalties for unlicensed plumbing work.
International Newarcel numbers to secure licenses through the board at New Orleans, but appointment eliminates this necessity. Plumbers in this parish may obtain a license from Mr. Steele, authorized by the board to examine and license plumbers. Steele can be found at the city pump station on South Grand street or at his residence.
The Bastrop Boy Scout troop held its regular Court of Honor with Dr. L. P. Leaver presiding despite heavy rain. Merit badge examinations saw several Scouts earn badges in architecture art forestry public health scholarship pathfinding. Scout executive J. J. Keith assisted. a Bonita birthday party for the troop is planned Friday night. In New Brunswick a woman’s will left $500 for her pet parrot’s care.
The News-Star reports Co. A. Green has filed to seek the office of mayor of finance and public funds pending the Democratic primary action.
