AP Wirephoto shows Miss Tregoff, 23, and her sweetheart Dr. R Bernard Finch during a trial recess as they face murder charges in the death of Finch's estranged wife.
Testimony wrapped as the defense neared rest with Prosecutors alleging Carole 23 ex model and the 42 year old surgeon conspired to kill his wife Mrs Finch to avoid sharing his estate in a divorce. Doctor Finch testified about the garage confrontation and a shaving kit found later in his attache case. The case adjourned with a jury expected to hear more next week.
Three gunmen failed in a bank holdup as they hid by bullet proof glass and attempted to flee to a getaway car. Two customers inside witnessed the scene while employees remained calm. State police noted the glass and turnstiles, installed over a century ago, deterred the robbery.
A 1957 auto driven at high speed left U S 165 wrecking into trees in a pasture near Ruston Louisiana. Williams 38 and wife Polly 33 died.
