The forecast for Northeast Louisiana calls for becoming mostly sunny today with a cool high in the lower 50s. Tonight should be clear and cold with lows in the upper 20s and light northeast winds. Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the mid 50s and lighter winds. More details continue on page 5a.
The Interior Department will deliver its first report Wednesday on whether natural gas producers deliberately withheld supply to worsen shortages and raise prices. Investigators from six agencies examined four Gulf Coast gas fields whose output fell sharply, prompting questions of withholding. Officials say a decision on expanding the probe will follow the report findings amid easing unemployment tied to the gas crisis.
