Joe Hollingsworth, 50, of Columbus, died in a Friday night crash near Starkville when two cars collided during a snowstorm. Mrs. Ernest W. Rials, 43, of Carey, was killed when a car skidded on a snow covered bridge near Vicksburg and hit a truck. Layman I. Patterson, 47, died of a heart attack while en route to Natchez hospital after a 45 minute hold on the Mississippi River Bridge during the snow event.
