Jarrell Hurt As Car And Street Car Collide In Monroe
W J Jarrell of Little Rock was badly bruised and treated at a sanitarium after a collision between Municipal street car No 31 and a Ford taxi owned by J T Wynn at the corner of Jackson and Calypso streets. George McQuiller suffered minor injuries. Only passenger on the taxi was Jarrell. The crash occurred Friday night as both vehicles approached the crossing from perpendicular directions. McCabe the street car motorman tried to stop but the taxi struck the car and rammed into an oak and a light post, shattering glass and damaging the taxi beyond repair. Jarrell sustained a deep cut on the left forehead a bruise over the left eye a nose wound and wrist and hand bruises. He blamed the turn of McQuiller who attempted to avoid the collision by turning into Jackson Street. Mrs Dooley and her sister helped Jarrell into the sanitarium.
