Federal Govt Challenges Mississippi BAWI Rental Deductions
The Internal Revenue Service challenged deducting rentals paid under Mississippi’s Balance Agriculture With Industry contracts as operating expenses for federal income tax. Gem Inc of Byhalia received notice in August 1956 with an appeal possible by next Monday, as officials noted similar plants in the state were alerted by telegram.
