Greenwood Mississippi February 14 Nathan Thomas 40 was wounded and died later from pistol wounds after a hit and run incident that fatally struck 7 year old Everett Mc Mastus of Minter City. A pursuing party fired on the fleeing suspect after he allegedly moved toward them and a rifle was found in his car. The white boy’s family had stopped to help when the child was struck by a may have been speeding vehicle. The boy died 30 minutes after the incident.

Firefighter plans nitroglycerin flood method near Saxet well

Three men C. L Strickland T. E Davenport and Bob Lowe were arrested in Monroe at the request of Vicksburg authorities for inquiry into the fatal shooting of Ernest Stubbs 21 year old employee at a Vicksburg filling station. The shooting occurred last Saturday night. The suspects were taken into custody after a suitcase shipped from Vicksburg was claimed at the Illinois Central station by a recipient who did not retrieve it in person. Stubbs resisted a magazine robbery attempt at the cash register, was struck and shot by the bandit, who then fled.
