George Maxwell, white, pleaded guilty to whiskey possession and received $100 fine and thirty days in jail, while Henry McCoy, black, received a similar fine and sentence. The State vs. Lee Wright, a negro barber, went to trial. the defendant faced liquor possession, with Hood law constitutionality in question. Judge Odom reserved ruling. Perry Palmer, Union parish farmer, jailed on police court for reckless driving and drunk and disorderly conduct with $25 fines and a ten day jail term suspended. another liquor charge may be moved to district court. Palmer remains in jail awaiting bond.
