Youth Receives Five Year Term For Burglary
Judge David I. Garrett imposed a five year term in Angola on a 19 year old Monroe Negro who admitted to burglary at a DeSiard street drug store. Samuel Ross will begin the term this week after being remanded to Ouachita parish jail. He admitted February 6 burglary of Spatfora's Drug Store at 801 DeSiard street and fled through a plate glass window. He pleaded not guilty to a second burglary charge at an adjoining cafe on North 8th street. Also, Sam Tillman, 22, pleaded guilty to aggravated battery and got three years in Angola after arrest on an attempted murder charge from last October 2. Victor Wright was the victim. Mack Arthur Jones received three and two years for simple burglary and theft from a December 14 incident involving a car.
