Dr Hyde Arrested for Killing Col Swope in Kansas City
Dr BC Hyde, husband of Col Swope's niece, was arrested on a first degree murder charge in Kansas City for allegedly poisoning Col Thomas W W Swope with strychnine. The warrant, sought by executor John G Paxton, was executed as Hyde surrendered and was arraigned in Independence Mo where he pleaded not guilty and posted 50000 bond. Prosecutor Virgil Conkling endorsed the complaint.
