Steele's saloon in Five Points, with guns in hand. Burke confessed guiding police to the stash near V and P shops. Longenback seen as a possible accomplice. Racket Store and R. C. Hamilton’s shop also robbed. clothes and change taken.
Officials announce an interurban railway plan linking Monroe and Shreveport. A joint Senate and House session will reveal the final result and timing of the electric rail line.
In Shreveport a draft route charter for a new line is prepared with Major Blevens leading the proposed system. Homer Minden Ruston are named as on the route committee in the document.
A charter for the North Louisiana Electric Railway to run 100 miles from Shreveport to Monroe via Minden Homer and Ruston is planned. The line would pass six parishes including Caddo Bossier Webster Claiborne Lincoln and Ouachita with prominent local businessmen backing the project.
City authority warns property owners who failed to build sidewalks abutting their lots that after ten days the sidewalk ordinances will be vigorously enforced. Leniency has lasted over five years. Mayor A. A. Forsytre signs from Monroe Louisiana February 8, 1913.

Mr Henry Bernstein of Hudson Potts and Bernstein gains official notice of appointment as general attorney for the St Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway Co for Louisiana. He succeeds the late F G Hudson. Bernstein is praised as a brilliant young Louisiana attorney and gains wide local and state regard.
Mrs. Grover Cleveland married Thomas J. Preston Jr in a simple ceremony at Princeton University executive residence. President Hibben officiated with no prior announcement.
Federal army mutinied and released Diaz and captured national Palace as President Madero was toppled in the upheaval.
Military funeral planned in Mexico City as the federal army seizes the National Palace and most public buildings. Gustavo Madero, brother of President Madero, is reported taken prisoner amid street fighting leaving the deposed ruler’s whereabouts unknown. About two hundred civilians are said to have been killed in the clashes.
Mexico City reports a violent street battle leading to the presumed flight or resignation of President Madero as Gen Felix Diaz's revolt gains ground. A conservative tally puts fatalities at about 200 with Gen Bernardo Reyes killed at the National Palace amid the uprising.
Washington confirms dispatches saying Welix Diaz forces control the Mexican capital after fighting in front of the National Palace. An embassy secretary toured the city and found houses with dead and crying, uncare d for in the plaza. No Americans known to be injured.
Mexico City reports the army in revolt took public buildings and shot federal adherents in the streets. General Felix Diaz was released from prison and filed under his banner, threatening President Francisco Madero who with his cabinet sought refuge in the National Palace and faced a siege amid loyal troops.
