A 22 year old North Dakota worker admitted to FBI agents he killed James B. Askew and his wife near McFarland California claiming he grew tired of the man driving. Donald Wyciskala of Bismarck was arrested in New Orleans after stepping off a bus. He said he took 250 dollars from the body to fund travel to Griffin Georgia. He said the victims were killed with a hatchet and their throats cut and were run over by a car. He claimed the plan to drive to Los Angeles began after answering a newspaper ad seeking a ride.
