Charles Brewer, a Department of Justice agent, told President Coolidge and Attorney General Daugherty that he would prove treasury officials suppressed knowledge of bond duplications and that duplications were destroyed as part of an investigation. Washington Feb 7 Investigation on charges of Charles Brewer who said there was destruction in the treasury department was asked in a resolution introduced today by Representative Lagardia Republican New York. Brewer yesterday submitted exhibits to several members of the house. The resolution seeks to identify who cancelled the bonds who destroyed them and by whose order.
Foreign Minister K Matsui urged the United States to ease restrictions on Japanese residents and oppose further exclusion measures. He told the Associated Press in Tokio that Japan seeks to be treated on par with other independent nations and defended Japan's conciliatory stance while ready to discuss the issue anew.
